Welcome. The directors of Friends of Tanzanian Schools, Inc. are individuals who visited Tanzania through
Thomson Safaris in 1996.
While there, they had the opportunity to visit primary and secondary schools in the Arusha area. They were moved by the warmth and hospitality of the Tanzanian people, and incredibly impressed by the dedication and perseverance of teachers, students and administrators.
Young Tanzanians were receiving an education despite attending rather modest school buildings lacking many educational necessities such as books, paper and pens.
This experience led them to form and begin our fund-raising efforts to help individual Tanzanian schools and promote exchanges between American and Tanzanian students. |
