Friends of Tanzanian Schools, Inc., is a private Massachusetts organization with tax-exempt status*. We receive pro bono legal assistance from the Boston law firm of Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP.

It is our hope that others who visit Tanzania and witness firsthand the lack of funding and basic teaching supplies of these Tanzanian schools will help us in assisting the students of Tanzania. With expanded financial support, we will be able to broaden our contacts to more schools and promote cooperation between the United States and Tanzania on educational development and exchanges. We would welcome your financial contributions, as well as your involvement as a volunteer. We urge you to write us with your ideas for promoting or expanding our goals.

The directors of Friends of Tanzanian Schools, Inc., retain the final decision-making authority over the funding of particular projects. Our representatives in Tanzania help oversee the purchase of construction materials and construction progress.
