To date we have formed working relationships with the Sakila Primary School in Arusha and the Lake Natron School in Maasailand. We have received proposed construction budgets and funded construction of two classrooms, one each for Lake Natron and Sakila Schools. At Lake Natron, our funding will complete a masonry classroom building, begun as a joint project of Lake Natron School parents and Thomson Safaris. A new Sakila School masonry classroom building will replace an existing wooden classroom. Our near term goals include outfitting the new classrooms with desks and supplies as well as raising funds for additional new classroom construction. The parents at both schools are contributing their labor to the construction efforts of these new school facilities. As directors for Friends of Tanzanian Schools, Inc., we believe that we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of Tanzanian students and their villages, as well as the American schools and students coming in contact with them. Learn how you can help!
